Venous Insufficiency

Are You In Hamilton, Princeton or New Brunswick NJ And Have Leg Swelling Caused By Venous Deficiencies?

Leg swelling can be uncomfortable, unsightly and happen seemingly out of nowhere. While swollen legs can have a multitude of causes, one that can be particularly difficult to treat is from poor vein operation due to venous insufficiency. Whatever the issue is, we at the Vein Treatment Center of NJ are dedicated to finding out the cause and the most proper treatment procedure to eradicate the problem.

Our Certified Phlebology Specialists Can Help You Diagnose and Treat a Variety of Vein-Based Causes for Leg Swelling

Swollen legs can be the result of many different factors, some as serious as kidney or heart failure, chronic kidney disease or cardiomyopathy. In most cases it is a result of something considerably less severe, such as the use of certain medications, sitting or standing for long periods of time, being overweight or inactive, or venous insufficiency. It is imperative that the cause of your leg swelling is properly diagnosed so that in turn it can be properly treated.

At our clinic we do this via venous ultrasound. It is a noninvasive procedure that uses sound to determine which blood valves are working properly and which are abnormal. This painless testing allows us to rule out more severe abnormalities and tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs. It is important to get even the most minor incident of swollen legs assessed and treated. If left untreated, it can lead to damage of the lymphatic system and damage to the skin, resulting in a condition known as stasis dermatitis, which in the most severe cases can develop infection, open ulcers or skin discoloration.
